And now, for something a little more polarizing.

A friend of mine and I had a bit of a discussion about the President’s speech at the National Prayer Breakfast.  It’s interesting to me that he chose to talk at length about his faith, yet set up a hierarchy in which the church is unable to do things that the government can.  As a Christian, we believe that God works His Will through the church.  Which means, of course, that there is no real limit to what the church can accomplish if God wills it.

So where, then, is our President’s faith actually placed?  To me, it sounds as if the government serves as the highest authority, over the Christian’s almighty, omnipotent, omnipresent God.  So, is this a crisis of faith for our President?  Given his particular brand of “Christianity”, black liberation theology, I sometimes wonder if he is really a Christian, or, much like the BLT movement, just using faith as a means to achieve his secular political agenda.

I pray our President is right with Christ.  None of us can judge his heart.  But this doesn’t mean that we are not to have discernment as well.
